The name "The Positive Phoenix" reflects my approach to life—a positive attitude and the fact that I have reinvented myself more than once. I am definitely a glass-half-full kind of woman. Attitude is everything, and if you bring a positive attitude to the table and are willing to continue to learn and grow, I truly believe the sky is the limit.
At times, I made the choice to reinvent myself, such as when I transitioned from working in investment banking to becoming an executive assistant to CEOs. Other times, I had to make thoughtful transitions due to life challenges, such as when we found out that my son is dyslexic.  And if that is not enough, it turns out that he is gifted too.  A whole new world of challenges just rolled my way!
My husband and I could have chosen to ignore our son's dyslexia, to overlook the fact that he was struggling in school and hope that he would outgrow it. However, that's not our approach - we decided to confront the challenge head-on. We started addressing the issue when our son was very young, still in preschool, as it became evident that he was different from the other kids.
I've learned that the most important thing about facing life's challenges is how we choose to tackle them. I prefer to confront reality head-on and not sugarcoat anything. I believe in being realistic, even if it's painful. I learn as much as I can, make a plan, and execute it. This approach can be hard work and challenging, but I always bring optimism and enthusiasm to everything I do, and in the end, it can be a very rewarding process. There is truly nothing more satisfying than seeing the fruits of your labor, whether that is completing a new quilt, learning a new software program, or designing a website.  The end result is often remarkable, and the journey is the process, ever-changing and morphing along the way.
I believe I can take on just about anything; I am not afraid of a good challenge and am willing to take the time to just figure it out.  Throughout my journey, I've learned to be resourceful and I am very determined once I have set a goal for myself. I strive for excellence in everything I take on, whether it's photography, building a new website, or being the best executive assistant that I can be. Most importantly, I've learned to pivot. If one solution doesn't work, I move on and come up with a Plan B or Plan C. Being prepared is crucial because the best-laid plans often go awry, and I cannot let that deter me from my goals and a successful outcome.
Today, I am focused on continuous learning and personal growth, pursuing my passions and finding joy, as well as supporting my family in doing the same. I firmly believe that in order to achieve your goals in life, you must be willing to take risks and put yourself out there. It is all about your mindset. You truly have nothing to lose, as long as you believe in yourself, maintain a positive attitude, and are willing to take that first step forward.
My mantra:  I am optimistic - I am resilient - I am resourceful - I am determined - and I will always figure out how to reach my goals.  We all have choices to make every day, and I will always choose to move forward.
